Jacob Black Twilight Action Figure – People Are Howling For This Toy

With the release of the new Twilight movie, New Moon, Jacob Black gets his day in the sun (well, the moon anyway). New Moon is the second book in the series and the second film to be made. Although the central theme of the books/movies is the relationship between Bella Swan and Edward Cullen, this book/movie focuses on a subplot – the relationship between Bella and Jacob. Jacob has a few secrets about himself too and we find out about them in the movie. Jacob uses his special skills to protect Bella and their relationship develops as a result (and also because Edward has moved away).

The Jacob Black Twilight action figure is made by NECA, that seem to specialize exclusively in Twilight merchandise. Most of the products they put out are officially licensed goods by Summit Entertainment (the makers of the Twilight movies).

The NECA action figure is a fairly accurate representation of the character in the move. It stands 7 inches tall. The face is not totally accurate but is not a bad representation of the actor given the size of the figure. He wears clothing that the character wears in the movie. He has jointed shoulders so that the arms can move up and down.

Background on Jacob Black.

Jacob Black features in all the books and movies in the Twilight series. He is originally a family friend of Bella Swan and helps her settle into the Forks area at the beginning of the books. He is described as a Native American, belonging to the Quileute tribe. The second book/movie gives him far more attention. In this book, we learn that he is actually a shapeshifter that can change into a werewolf at will. There are other werewolves in the area and they go around in a pack fighting vampires.

Jacob develops a crush for Bella during the first movie. In the second, the pair get closer and it tells the story of how Jacob tries to make Bella love him. Jacob Black is portrayed by Taylor Lautner in the New Moon.
